Dinosaur and Wind Tour Map

Something to do on your way to and from Laramie
or Cheyenne Shopping Malls!

Travel east on Highway 30, about 10 miles out of Medicine Bow. Watch for the Fossil Cabin on the left. There is a parking area there, along with a descriptive sign. The Como Bluff Dinosaur site is closed to the public, and the Fossil Cabin is only open occasionally, but is well worth the look anyway, even if all you can see is the outside of this remarkable building. The cabin is entirely constructed out of dinosaur fossils.

Head on into Laramie, and see some of the shops on Grand Avenue and 3rd Street. Stop for lunch at one of the eating establishments, then head back to Medicine Bow via I-80. Watch for the Arlington Exit, and turn North toward McFadden. You will pass the Wind Turbines, majestic as they make lazy circles above the sagebrush. The road joins Highway 30 at Rock River, turn West and travel back to Medicine Bow.

Laramie is about 1 hour East of Medicine Bow. The route back through Arlington adds an extra 20 minutes.
