Medicine Bow Centennial

 

The Centennial celebration of Medicine Bow's incorporation was held during the weekend of June 26th through 28th, 2009. There were lots of events that had been planned to keep locals and visitors busy for the three days of fun.

 

 Friday, June 26th

Everyone was treated to a free dinner

Friday night's Youth Dance, and Saturday morning's Pancake breakfast were held
in the newly remodeled Community Center.

Saturday, June 27th

 

 Volunteer Firemen making breakfast

Members of the Medicine Bow Volunteer Fire Department make a pancake breakfast for the Centennial Celebration.

The breakfast was enjoyed by many of the visitors for Medicine Bow's Centennial Celebration.

 Centennial Parade Horse color guard

The US and Wyoming colors were presented by a mounted guard. The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts carried their colors, and the Medicine Bow Centennial flag.

 Emergency Vehicles

Emergency vehicles from Medicine Bow, Hanna, and the Carbon County Fire Departments appeared in the parade.

Union Pacific Railroad presented a mounted color guard.

 Carbon Co Sherrif Pick Up Truck

The Carbon County Sheriff's Department provided a vehicle for the parade, also.

An old shepherd's wagon mounted on a trailer was provided by Heward ranches.

Quick Draw Competetion

A "quick draw" competition was held Saturday and Sunday.

There were games on Saturday morning for the kids - and a few teens as well.
